Hawzah News Agency- The letter, delivered by Hojatoleslam Amin Din, director of the Office of Religions and Denominations at the seminaries, during a visit to Constanța, Romania, has been announced as marking the beginning of extensive scientific and cultural collaboration between Iran's Islamic Seminaries and Romania's Muslim community.
Citing verses from the Holy Quran and the Prophetic tradition, the letter underscores the strategic imperative of unity among the Ummah.
It clarifies that rapprochement among Islamic schools of thought does not imply the negation of jurisprudential or theological differences, but rather a focus on shared commonalities and coordinated action against major challenges confronting the Muslim world — including cultural invasion, the weakening of the family institution, and extremism.
The letter also acknowledges the valuable role of Romania's Grand Mufti in promoting Islamic rapprochement and peaceful coexistence, expressing appreciation for his efforts.
Three Key Areas of Cooperation
In another section of the letter, Ayatollah Arafi announces the full readiness of Iran's Islamic Seminaries to cooperate with Romania's Dar al-Ifta in three key domains: educational and research, cultural and social, and spiritual and ethical.
Proposed areas of collaboration include the exchange of professors and researchers in comparative jurisprudence, Islamic theology, and Islamic history; the organization of international conferences centered on Islamic unity, youth, and religious identity; and the preservation of shared mystical and ethical heritage.
Special emphasis is placed on the revival of Quranic studies and comparative exegesis as a common foundation for all Muslims.
Rejecting Sectarian Insults
Notably, the letter concludes by citing the fatwas of senior Shia religious authorities regarding the prohibition of insulting Sunni sanctities, reaffirming the necessity of refraining from any offense against each other's revered symbols, and underscoring God-consciousness as the sole criterion of nobility before Allah.
Ayatollah Arafi describes broad cooperation with Romania's Muslim community as an effective step in safeguarding the heritage of pristine Muhammadan Islam and countering extremism and religious innovation.
He prays to Almighty God for success and honor for the Grand Mufti and all Muslim brothers in Romania.
